One of the reason we moved to Barrie is the nature, lake and many of its available hiking trails. Lovers Creek ravine is located on the South-East end of Barrie and is accessible only 5 minutes walking distance from where we live. According to lrsca.on.ca website, all of the lands within the Lake Simcoe watershed ultimately drain into Lake Simcoe, via one of the tributary rivers. Lovers Creek is one of three main watersheds that make up the Lake Simcoe watershed (Kempenfelt Bay).
Lovers Creek’s land area is split between Barrie and Innisfil. The part we went to was only a small portion of the creek which we accessed it from the walkable community. It was quite a scenic walk with the snow covering the river banks and our dog loved it!
